Q: Will I be stopped at the airport? There was a verdict against me due to a rent dispute about a year ago. I was ordered to vacate and pay a certain amount. I did vacate but never paid the ordered amount. I am wondering if I will be stopped at the airport while trying to exit Dubai for a few days.

Q: Dear Ma`am, I have received a letter from my property developer about defaulting on payment and requesting to pay within 30 days or they "reserve the right to commence legal proceedings to cancel the unit registration from your name from Dubai land departments records". I am currently arranging the funds to settle this outstanding amount, however, I would like any information regarding the procedure should I fail to pay in exact time and if you think there is any chance to delay by a week or two. The right to resign without notice and cancel visa for holding or reducing salaries

Q: My office is in Tecom Free Zone. I resigned one month back and now completed the notice period but they didn’t cancel my visa. My new employer is asking for cancellation papers to get me onboard. The current company is not issuing them, I have faced the below salary reductions in my current organization: 1. Salary deduction of 75% for the month of February 2. Salary deduction of 75% for the month of March 3. Salary deduction of 50% for the month of April 4. Salary deduction of 50% for the month of June. I am being asked to serve a 3 months’ notice period stating that this is my contractual obligation. I have requested many a time, it is not possible for me to serve a 3 months’ notice period and I am willing to serve 1 month, not to harm the operations of the organization. Please advise

Can a property buyer claim travel ban as force majeure for not fulfilling MOU?

Q: Hi, I have signed an MOU in the month of April 2021. After signing, I went to India to attend my brother`s marriage. I was planning to come back after the marriage but by that time, the UAE government put a ban on travel from India to UAE. The ban just got lifted and I returned in Mid August 2021. Unfortunately, by the time I returned, MOU got expired. Since I was planning to purchase the property on mortgage, I needed to be here in the UAE to complete the transfer. I still have all the intentions to purchase the property but the seller has increased the price which doesn`t fit my budget. Now my question is, since the reason for not completing the transaction was genuine, do I have any legal stand in this case?

Rights of the tenant in case of receiving an eviction notice

Q: The landlord wants to provide us with a 12 months` notice to evict but has not provided a reason. We have advised him of the 4 reasons as per RERA in which he can do this and that he cannot rent the property to another tenant for 2 years if he proceeds with this. He has ignored this and now asked to inspect the property next week. Obviously, as he has given notice we have to allow this. Where do we stand in protecting ourselves? It is quite clear he wants us to leave as the rent in our area has increased significantly but the RERA calculator is not allowing any rental increase.

Q: Good day, My workmate was missing 2 days now. We track his flat and check his whereabouts and found out he was last seen at a billiards place near his house. Two guys from the billiards place informed us that he and 3 more (2 guys and 1 lady) was taken by the CID.
