Refusing to renew an employment limited contract by an employee

Q: Hi, Is it possible for my employer to issue any kind of ban against me if I decide not to renew my limited contract? I have worked with them for 8 years and I don`t have any desire to renew this time as I want to join a different company. Can they do anything to stop me from joining another company?

What can our company do to avoid action from a creditor company?

Q: Respected Madams & Sirs, We are a commercial trading company registered in Dubai - UAE and we import goods and sell them in the local market. Since the end of 2019, we were not in a good financial position and followed by COVID pandemic further declined our business. There is a delay in payment to our international "European" supplier (Euro 18 thousand). Our intention is to clear their payment but we need more time. At present, they are proceeding to take legal action against our company. We wish to know, will there be any action taken against our company as per the UAE Law? Can the company change the proportion of basic salary to gross salary?

Q: Dear Madam, Our management has decided to change the salary structure where we used to pay 60% of Gross Salary as Basic Salary. Now the management wants to change the basic salary of employees to 40% and the remaining amount to be included as other allowance. There will not be any decrease in the salary but there will be a change in the basic salary percentage, is this allowed in the UAE (Our company is in Dubai, a mainland company, sole establishment)? Is it legal to take this step? If yes, then under which article can the change take place? Do we need to settle gratuity based on the current basic salary and revise the contract or we can just change the basic as we are not reducing the gross salary? Please advise.

Q: I wish to get a remote work visa, explained here. Is this enough to change my current permanent place of living when it comes to paying taxes? Since every person is obligated to pay taxes in the country where he lives or stays for more than 183 days. I wish to receive my salary from my EU companies to a personal bank account in the UAE. Are there any taxes in the UAE for me when it comes to salary, and will I get taxed for the capital income my company in the EU makes? Finally, from what I understood, there is no need to get any freelancer permits or anything else with this visa type and this type of income (paying salary to myself from my own EU company). Is that correct?

Right of the employee to file a case for termination during probation period

Q: I was 2.5 months in probation period when I got called in for an interview, where I received a termination of services letter stating that "my performance has not reached a satisfactory standard for the role that I was hired by HR."
