Refund of a deposit paid by the buyer of a real estate property

Q: Hi, I had signed an MOU to buy an apartment. I had the following clause in the MOU: "This sale purchase contract is subject to the final approval from the Buyers Banks" My mortgage has been rejected by one bank. While I was processing my mortgage with another bank the MOU expired and the seller is not willing to extend the MOU. Can I claim my deposit check back from the agent? Thanks, Dinesh

Dishonoured cheques and breach of contract

Q: A Company had issued us several cheques amounting to nearly 600,000 AED. All the cheques had bounced, and we lodged a complaint with the police station. The police after calling for the bank documents and details from the defaulter`s bank issued a travel ban. All efforts of the police to trace the defaulter or contact over the phone have been futile. The police have now forwarded the case to the court and asked me to keep track of the dates on the portal. The cheques were signed by the Managing Director of the company. It is important to note that the defaulting Company had violated several terms in the contract, resulting in fraud and criminal conspiracy and breach of trust. Please advise what will be the consequences the defaulter may have to face and how should we go about it.

What to do if you have a police case due to an unpaid bank loan

Q: Hello Sirs, I badly need help. I was terminated from work due to a bad market situation to cut the cost. They let me use the company visa until I get a permanent job but the market situation is really bad. They informed me that the management has decided to cancel all pending visas of terminated people including mine. When my passport and documents were submitted to JAFZA, the cancellation was rejected due to a police case due to non-payment of a bank loan. I am so afraid they will catch me and put me directly in jail... If so, how can I start again and look for a new job to repay my loans? Please, I beg you help me... Do I need to cancel visa with my employer in Kuwait to get UAE employment visa?

Q: I was working in Kuwait as an electrical QC inspector. While working in Kuwait I got an offer from an Abu Dhabi company for ADCO project. They told me that I have to come to India for joining ADCO project in Abu Dhabi. Then, I moved to India and I received an offer letter from Abu Dhabi company. They offered me almost 5600 AED/month. I accepted the offer letter and put my thumb impression and signature on offer letter and sent it to my employer in Abu Dhabi. They told me that they are going to apply for a visa for me. But today they called me that my visa application rejected. They told me that it`s rejected perhaps of my active visa in Kuwait because I didn`t cancel visa of my previous employer but my visa is going to be expired in next month on 24th August. Can you tell me the reason for my visa rejection and what should I do? Thanks

Filing case for maintenance against husband in the UAE

Q: Dear, I am writing this on behalf of my sister in law: "I married this guy almost 15 years ago. He left for a job in the UAE. Now he rarely visits me in Pakistan in years. He also got married to some other Pakistani girl in the UAE. Q: Hello, I want to start a drop shipping business (expecting to make less than a thousand Jordanian Dinar a year). Basically, drop shipping is selling a product on an online store without owning the product or having to keep inventory. When I get a sale I go and buy it from Ali Express (which is a website full of suppliers from China) and I ship the product to a customer address (in United States) and earn the difference in money. How to lift UAE employment ban

Q: I was working for Boutique 1, it`s an LLC company. I left the company in October 2015, after working with them for 11 months. So I got a one-year labour ban from them. Then I joined another company which is in a free zone, so my visa got processed and faced no issues in October 2015. I have been with this company for 1 year and 9 months and now I have a job with Landmark which is an LLC as their marketing manager. So I cancelled my visa and applied with them but it got rejected because it says I have a 1-year ban. Now, the ban is from my old employer Boutique 1 (the ban should have finished last year), but since I didn`t leave the country and rather changed my visa within the UAE the ban period never begun. I have filed a request with Tasheel but I don`t think that will help. I have everything needed to lift the ban. The labour contract with my salary a lot more than AED 12,000 attested bachelor`s degree & if necessary I can get NOC from Boutique 1 as it`s been almost 2 years since I left them. Need urgent help!

Bank dues and arrest at the airport

Q: Dear Nikhat, I have a personal loan with a bank in Dubai. Last October 2016 I lost my job and the company sent me back to my country. Now I have a job offer and visa.
