Institution of bounced cheques criminal case and restriction on travel

My landlord filed a criminal case against me after my rental cheques bounced in Dubai, and police arrested me at Dubai Airport. Two days later, I was released from Dubai court after paying a fine.

The landlord filed a case again after two days because I had another bounced cheque. I have now to report my self to police, and after two days I will pay the fine and get released from Dubai court.

The question is if I pay the fine and no civil case filed yet, can I travel to my home country?

Please advise me as per my problem.

Thanks

Dear Sir,

After referring to your query, we are of opinion that as the criminal case has already been instituted, you cannot leave the country until and unless you settle the amount of your outstanding rent and get a clearance certificate from the court itself.

Referring to your current situation, we opine that you should try to communicate with your landlord and settle the matter with him.

Should you have any further question and/or concern, you may contact us at 045547635 or you may mail us at info@awsuwaidi-advocates.com.

Regards,

Aws M. Younis
