Q: Would it be possible to come back to the UAE if someone was repatriated through deportation due to overstaying and non-compliance with the residency rules? The person has been jailed several times due to bank default way back in 2008-2009, wherein many banks filed cases despite the person tried to settle their financial obligations.

Help with checking a job offer if it is genuine or fake

Q: Hi. Please help! I have been offered a job in Dubai at Suhara hospital, UAE. The contract has been sent to me to sign and send back. It is asking I contact Sapna travels LLC for the travel visa. I got this today 18th June and it’s asking they receive my permit and work visa for 4 years to be sent by the 27th June so they can pay me my 2 months salary in advance for travel...etc. Seems rather quick. I have had no interview either just my cv I sent over. There is a mention of expenses related to me relocating which will be reimbursed in 5 days after submitting receipts. Not sure if this is genuine or fake. Please help and guide me on how to go about this? My family think it may be fake. The offer seems too good to be true. Any ideas on how to check authenticity? I am now worried if it is fake, they have my cv details i.e. home address, email, telephone number...etc. Kind regards J. B.

Settlement of a loan to avoid criminal and civil actions

Q: Hi. I got a loan of 30,000 from a finance company. I was paying my monthly EMI. After that, I lost my job and I wasn`t able to pay. Then I got another job. My employer applied for a visa but my name got a match with a guy who is blacklisted in the UAE. After many attempts, I got the visa but I did not get my Emirates ID. Due to expired ID, my sim got blocked and I was not in contact with the finance company. Even to date, I don`t have an ID. Before a few months, the finance company put a case on me and I was unaware about that and I have no idea that there is running a case on me. In my absence, the court gave a judgement of 5 months in prison. I`m still in the UAE. A few days ago, I was travelling from Sharjah to Oman and they arrested me at Sharjah airport. I am on bail now. My next date in court will be in next week. I want to know is there any solution to avoid prison or convert prison to fine?

Consequences of credit card debts in the UAE

Q: Hi I am working in Dubai and I have a credit card with limit 10000 (which is fully used) and a personal loan of AED 37000 balance with a bank. The last 9 months, I was having problems with my job and was not able to pay my credit card minimum amount, but I have not defaulted on my loan amount. Yesterday, I got a call from a legal agent claiming to file a case for the credit card. I am not in a situation to pay both the dues together but I can pay my credit card dues once I settle my personal loan which is 3700 x 10 more months. How to resolve the issue? If they file a case against me, will I be imprisoned for the said amount of AED 10,000?

Cancellation of a dependent sponsored visa and family dispute

Q: My wife who is under a residency visa (my dependent) came to Dubai without my knowledge. I contacted the embassy and I had to accommodate her. Later, she lodged a complaint with the police for domestic violence and then retracted the charges. I left to India after informing my employer and I sent my wife tickets to come to India as well. She didn`t travel and is refusing to come to India along with my 3-year-old daughter. She is staying at an NGO and is adamant. At this point, what options do I have to bring her back here? She is saying that she will stay there and will continue to stay even if I don`t return back.

Refusal to renew visa and unlawful demand of visa charges

Q: My visa & insurance card expired on 23/05/2019. On repeated request, the company has not renewed my visa or insurance. They have given the notice on 19/05/2019 that the last working day is 20/07/2019 since the company is closing down this branch. Even after repeated reminders, they have not renewed my visa. Now, they are asking for insurance and visa renewal money, if I need my visa to be renewed. Kindly advise.

Replacing the local sponsor and changing profit sharing

Q: I have opened a restaurant. Due to some issues, I had to add my local sponsor as a partner. Now, the shares are like 64% for him and 36% for me on records. Profit share is 50-50. He is claiming that he has lost his government job due to this high percentage of partnership in the restaurant. He needs a large amount of money every month which I cannot afford right now.
