Q: Hello, I currently have an execution case (status reserved) for a bounced cheque (less than 300K). I found a job in Dubai as I want to pay back my debts. My future employer applied for an employment visa and I received the approved visa from the authorities today. Does it mean that I can safely travel? Or I will be detained at the airport? Q: My father died recently. We are Muslim residents in Dubai. I have siblings including a minor who is 16 years old. My father has land and vehicles under his name. If I am applying for inheritance, does the minor need to have a share in ALL the properties and vehicles or can she be given a particular property/vehicle? Secondly, if we want the land to be in her name, and she manages it (like renting and bank), does it require an adult? Can the vehicles be transferred to someone else’s name without including her? Q: Hello. The question is about my execution file in the Court of Personal Status in Dubai. In 2013, a judgment was made for the father to pay AED 2K monthly for Nafaqa (alimony) and AED 40K annually for house rent. However, the father consistently delayed payments, despite having a monthly income of AED 30K. I attempted to settle the matter through court procedures in 2015 and 2017, but the father didn`t follow through. By 2021, the outstanding amount was AED 145K, leading me to request an arrest warrant. The father claims he`s not working, but I am aware he`s involved in a construction business with his brother to avoid court responsibilities. He has no property or financial resources to block. In 2023, the outstanding amount increased to AED 206K. The father hired a lawyer to remove the arrest warrant, and now they seek a settlement. The court admin insists I attend the settlement meeting. Q: I got arrested in 2018 for the possession of weed, spent a month in jail and the prosecutor dropped the charges and deported me. They said it`s a call from a lawyer`s office and the guy writes provocative messages on Whatsapp to show that I am not willing to cooperate. How long is the security cheque valid for?
