As long as I am paying the bank my EMI every month, it should not be an issue outside the UAE, right? Please clarify this. will I be able to leave the country? Will the company be able to process my visa? I have always made payments on time, but due to the change of job, I need to move to Saudia Arabia.

Labor rights of the employee in case of termination after completing one year

Q: Hi Ma`am This is about my husband getting terminated in Dubai. He has been terminated on the grounds of misbehavior which is a false allegation by the employer. He has completed 1 year period at the company. The employer has filed a labor complaint against my husband. I`m not much aware of the labor law of Dubai. Can you please let me know if my husband is entitled to the 3 months salary along with the vacation pay as he just completed his 1 year in the company? The contract my husband signed doesn`t have anything mentioned as 3 months` pay but does have the vacation pay after completing 1 year. But will he be entitled to it even if he is terminated? Also, my husband has proof of the employer`s misbehavior (voice record) Please reply.

The amount of maintenance for the wife decided by court after separation

Q: Dear Sir, My wife and I are both residents of the UAE and are both Muslims, married in India under Sharia Law, and registered in the UAE. While my visa is sponsored by my company in Dubai, she is staying with her parents in Abu Dhabi. We are not staying together since Sept 20 as she was not a good wife to me. We don’t have any children. In Jan 2022, she filed a maintenance case against me in Abu Dhabi court. There was a video conf. call with personal status court. Yesterday, I got another message again from the court to attend the video conference call. The next date they gave us was on 17 May 2022. Hence I request you to please advise me why they asked for my salary certificate. Will they ask me to pay monthly maintenance to her? If yes, then how much would it be monthly? Does the maintenance come under Sharia law even though we are not divorced yet? Please note that she has blocked me over WhatsApp, kept on abusing me from time to time since she is with her father and many more bad things from her relatives` side. Thanks.

Q: Hi, I have a question regarding a rental agreement. We are the landlord and one of our properties is rented. So before the contract was signed, we agreed with the tenant and put it in writing that this would be the last year of rent, and there would be no renewal once rent expires. This condition is in the contract. The tenant agreed and signed. Now the tenant doesn`t want to follow the agreement and is forcing us to renew for another year. What can we do about it?

Q: Hello. I am facing a really horrible time after visiting one of the salons in Dubai in December 2020. I had permanent makeup remover on my eyebrows and it is been now 1 year and a half and I have horrible red scars on my face instead of eyebrows. س: السلام عليكم، لدي بيت مؤجر لشركة عقارية. وبحكم أني أعيش خارج الإمارات، تعرضت لنوع من النصب حيث لم يتم إخباري عن موضوع الإخطار القانوني لإخلاء البيت. بعد درايتي بالموضوع أرسلت إخطارًا قانونيًا في شهر سبتمبر الماضي لإخلاء البيت، مع العلم أن عقد الإيجار حُرر في فبراير 2021 والإخطار القانوني في سبتمبر 2022 لأني أنوي الاستقرار في بيتي بالإمارات مع عائلتي إن شاء الله. أريد من فضلكم معرفة هل يحق للشركة العقارية تمديد مدة الإيجار رغم الإخطار القانوني؟ صاحبة الشركة لا تريد التواصل معي حتى مستحقاتي (الإيجارات) لم أتوصل لها وبيتي معروض للإيجار على الإنترنت بعقد سنوي. مع العلم حسب القانون، لا بد من تسليم المفاتيح في شهر سبتمبر. وشكرًا!

Q: Dear sir/madam, I currently live in Canada. I worked in UAE (Abu Dhabi and Ajman) from 2013 to 2016. I want to acquire a Police Clearance Certificate for immigration purposes (to Canada). I`ve tried online twice but have failed. I would like to know where there is any court case against me. In 2016, I left the UAE without informing my employer, bank, lessor, etc. since my wife was in a bad medical condition in Sri Lanka at that time. Then I never returned to the UAE. Can I please get some help in this process?
