Questions & Answers
A travel agent promised us a guaranteed visit visa to Canada and failed to obtain or return our money. What to do?
My friend and I gave 31500 dhs to a lady in Dubai who is also a Canadian citizen. She approached us as a travel agent for a Canadian visit visa and a fake appointment letter for a job, too.
She said if we do not get a visit visa, then she will return the whole amount. It has been two years, and she has not given us the money back.
She is in Dubai and making excuses. Our whole conversation is in WhatsApp messages about money, too; we have those offer letters, too.
Please, I need good advice, how to get our money back?
I work in a big company as a sales assistant.
You may have a strong case for criminal fraud and civil recovery under UAE law based on:
WhatsApp conversation confirming the agreement and payment.
The fake job offer letters.
Her false promise to return the money if the visa wasn't issued, which did not happen.
This situation amounts to fraud under the UAE Penal Code.
If you need help drafting the complaint or representation before the police/court, please feel free to share your full WhatsApp number, and I can assist you step by step.

Dear Inquirer,
Thank you for reaching out.
Based on what you've shared, this appears to be a case of fraud and breach of trust, especially if you have WhatsApp evidence and the fake job letters.
Since the person is still in Dubai, legal action can be taken through the criminal court and possibly the civil court to recover your funds.
We recommend acting quickly to preserve your rights and evidence.
You can book a consultation with Future Vision for Advocacy and Legal Consultancy so we can review your documents and represent you in filing a police report and court case if needed.

Dear Sir,
We can issue a legal notice to request the refund of the amount.
If the amount is not recovered within the specified period, we can proceed with filing a legal case against the other party to claim your rights through the court.
