How to access the UAE bank account of the deceased?
Hi
I need to access my husband's bank account in the UAE.
He died and I have legal heirship and death certificate both attested by the UAE embassy in India, where he died.
What is the next step?
Do let me know.
Thanks

Dear Questioner,
I am sorry for your loss. May the soul rest in peace.
I am not sure which Emirate in the UAE your husband held the bank account.
From the above description, I understand that you have already collected the PoA after embassy attestation.
Now the same shall be translated to Arabic with the help of an approved legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice, UAE.
Once it is translated, the same shall be attested by the MoJ. After this procedure, the same can be filed in the Court for the Inheritance matter to obtain a legal heir certificate. I recommend you to hire a lawyer at this stage.
During the hearing stage, you also will have to present two male witnesses to promise before the Court with regard to the relationship of the deceased with the applicants of Legal Heir Certificate.
Please feel free to contact me if you need any further assistance or guidance in this matter.
Thank you.

Hello,
I need to know if you are a Muslim or non-muslim.
The law is different for both and so the process of getting access to the account will also be different.
Also if possible, send us the scan copy of the legal heirship and death certificate.
