Questions & Answers
Can MOHRE force my employer to cancel my work visa immediately?
Hello,
My old employer does not cancel my work visa on my last day of work.
Can I get someone like MOHRE to make them cancel it immediately, or can MOHRE cancel it for me?
Greetings,
If your employer does not cancel your work visa after your last working day, you can file a complaint with MOHRE to request cancellation.
However, MOHRE cannot cancel the visa directly—they can only instruct the employer to do so. If the employer refuses to comply, further legal action may be required.
To expedite the process and protect your legal rights, book a consultation with us to handle the matter on your behalf.
Your employer is legally obligated to cancel your work visa upon the end of your employment. If they fail to do so, you can file a complaint with MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation) to initiate the cancellation process.
MOHRE can intervene and direct your employer to complete the cancellation. However, MOHRE itself does not cancel the visa directly—your employer must complete the procedure with Immigration (GDRFA) after settling any pending dues.
If your employer is uncooperative, legal action may be necessary to enforce compliance and protect your status in the UAE. I can assist you in filing a complaint and ensuring your rights are upheld.
