Procedure of obtaining a UAE death certificate through POA
I need to give a power of attorney to someone in Dubai so that they can go to the Ministry of Health and get a certified death certificate.
I have all copies and consular report of death but the insurance company wants certified copies.

We can get the death certificate on your behalf if you provide all the documents in support of facts to be advanced to the Ministry of Health.
Kindly clarify where the death took place.

Dear Questioner,
We are more than happy to assist you with drafting a Power of Attorney (“POA”) to be used with the Ministry of Health in order to obtain a certified death certificate.
We will draft the POA for you and send the word version in (English and Arabic).
Please note that the POA shall be notarized at the Notary Public office in your home country or the country you are currently residing in.
After notarization, you should attest the POA in the UAE Embassy in your home country or the country you are currently residing in.
Once this procedure is done, you should send the original POA to the address which I will provide you.
Once we receive the POA, we will have the document attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice in order for the POA to be used within the Ministry of Health.
Kindly email the following documents to bw@elnaggarlegal.com:
• Copy of your passport; and
• Copy of the passport whom you wish to give the POA to, unless you would like one of our Legal Advisors to act as POA to obtain the certified copies on your behalf.
