Requirements for transferring the car of deceased brother to my name
Good day,
My brother passed away on May 12, 2018, in the Philippines while he was on vacation. He owns a car here in Dubai.
I would like to ask what are the legal step-by-step actions for the car to be transferred under my name.
I hope you can help me with this since it's almost 2 years now.

Hello,
You can go to the court to apply for a death certificate and need to apply also that you are the only heir for him.
Then you can go to the police and car registration centre to transfer the car under your name.

Dear questioner,
You have to open a case in Dubai Personal Status Court with your brother's death certificate confirming you as the heir of his assets in Dubai. After which you can go to RTA to transfer the car to your name.
If need be, kindly contact us by phone for a detailed discussion or write to us at our email for further assistance.
Dear client,
You should get a legal heir certificate from the court and submit the same to RTA to transfer the Mulkia and renew the car.
Before that, you need all the documents from Philipines and must be properly attested.
If you need any kind of help, please feel free to call me on my phone.
Thanks

Hi
This is a long process and expensive also because you have to follow the court process to transfer the property of your brother.
First of all, keep in mind you can't take his property unless you have a Power of Attorney from all of his legal heirs and generally, his legal heirs will be his mother, father (Parents), wife and children.
Make a POA in your name and attest it from the UAE embassy in Manila, after that attest is from the UAE foreign ministry and Ministry of Justice (Arabic version) and move to personal status court in Dubai.
In court, first, make a Legal Heir Certificate of your brother and after that file an application for the estate court for his property and car details after the confirmation. Next application you file to get a paper for RTA from the court to transfer the ownership to your name.
