Filing a commercial case to recover an outstanding invoice
We have an outstanding invoice with a company in the UAE who refuses to pay.
Over the past 3 years, they kept saying they will start making payments on a monthly basis, however, nothing happened.
We have all the communications detailing their lack of payments. The sum is about $24,000.
Can you advise on the process and cost of taking this claim forward?

Of course, you can file a commercial recovery case against the company. I believe the company in the UAE is still active in the market.
You have not mentioned in which emirate the said company is located and so I assume that the same is located in Dubai.
In Dubai, 6% of the claim amount shall be paid as a court fee. I believe you have all the records of purchase orders, invoice and delivery notes.

Thanks for contacting online. If you have all the supporting documents regarding the transaction, definitely you can move a civil case for recovery of the amount before the court of the concerned emirate.
Before moving on directly to the case, a legal notice can be issued on this company demanding for payment within the period. If they fail to comply with the notice, recovery proceedings can be initiated to the court.
