Questions & Answers
How can I renew my partner visa if the license of my company has expired two years ago?
My friend and I are using a partner visa. Due to some needs, the business didn't continue. He was in Abu Dhabi while I was in Dubai.
Without telling me, he left UAE in August this year and our license has not been renewed for the past two years. It has expired and my visa has expired too.
What do I do to cancel my visa and get an employment visa?
Hello,
In the UAE, businesses are required to renew their licenses and visas on time.
If the license has been expired for two years and the partnership visa is also expired, you may face penalties, fines, and legal consequences for failing to comply with the regulations.
Since the partnership visa is linked to the business license, both will need to be officially canceled in order to avoid further legal complications.
Failing to renew the business license on time or cancel it can result in penalties or fines imposed by the Department of Economic Development (DED) or the relevant free zone authority.

With an expired partnership visa and business license, you'll need to cancel your current visa through the GDRFA in Dubai, which involves submitting necessary documents like a passport, Emirates ID, and an expired trade license.
During the 30-day grace period after cancellation, you should secure a job offer to obtain a new employment visa, being prepared to potentially pay any accumulated fines or penalties.
