Dear Lawyers,

In light of the amnesty's conclusion, will a fine of 1 million dirhams be imposed on employees without a visa, as well as on employees of sister companies who have a visa?

Dear Questioner,

According to UAE law, employees who are found to be working without a valid visa will be subject to a fine of 1 million dirhams.

This applies to both employees who do not have a visa at all, as well as employees of sister companies who have a visa but are working for a different company.

This is because the UAE considers all companies under the same ownership or management to be part of the same group, and therefore employees of these companies are subject to the same laws and regulations.

It is important for all employees to ensure that they have a valid visa and work permit to avoid any fines or legal consequences.

Hello,

Employees found working without a valid work visa (or those overstaying a visa) are subject to hefty fines.

The UAE government enforces strict penalties to ensure that all employees hold proper, up-to-date work permits, and for certain cases, fines can reach up to AED 1 million.

This fine can apply to each employee working illegally. Employees must be employed by the company that sponsors their visa.

If an employee is working for a "sister company" (i.e., a company under the same ownership but with a different license) without proper authorization or a work permit, they are considered to be working illegally.

This can result in severe penalties for both the employee and the employer.

Dear Questioner,

- Correcting the status: It is best for all individuals and companies to ensure that their employment status is corrected to avoid any legal consequences and financial penalties.

- Legal advice:

It is preferable to consult a lawyer specialized in labor and immigration laws in the UAE to obtain legal guidance on how to correct the status and avoid fines.
