The police called me to visit the prosecution after the other party withdrew the case. Why?

Dear Lawyers,

After withdrawing the case and submitting the notarized withdrawal letter to the police station, I received a call from the station stating that I need to visit the prosecution office.

What is the purpose of this visit? Is it to provide me with a letter stating that the travel ban is lifted?

Is the other party who filed the complaint against me also required to be present at the prosecution office?

Dear Questioner,

The visit allows the prosecution to officially confirm the withdrawal, close the case on their end, and ensure that any legal actions tied to the complaint, like travel bans, are lifted.

The prosecution may issue you a confirmation letter stating that the travel ban has been removed, or they may provide an update on when and how the ban will be lifted if further actions are pending.

In most cases, the other party (who raised the complaint) may not need to be present at this stage. However, this can vary depending on the specific case requirements and instructions from the prosecution.

If the prosecution needs further confirmation from the complainant, they will typically contact them separately.

Dear Questioner,

The prosecution office will officially close the case and update their records. They will confirm that any travel ban imposed due to the case has been lifted.

This is crucial for your future travel plans. If there are any outstanding issues or formalities, the prosecution office will address them.

The other party who raised the complaint against you is not typically required to be present at the prosecution office for this process.

The withdrawal of the case and the subsequent closure are primarily administrative procedures.

Thank you for reaching out regarding your situation!

After submitting your notarized withdrawal letter, the police may request you to visit the prosecution office for several reasons.

This visit typically serves to finalize the withdrawal process, and it may include providing you with documentation confirming that any travel ban against you has been lifted.

As for the other party who raised the complaint, it is not common for them to be required to attend the prosecution office unless specified by the authorities. However, I recommend confirming this with the prosecution office directly.

If you have any further questions or need assistance navigating this process, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to help you.
