Questions & Answers
Can a landlord in Ras Al Khaimah increase the rent after just one year?
Dear Lawyers,
Can a landlord in Ras Al Khaimah increase the rent after just one year?

Hello,
Landlords are allowed to increase rent annually, but the increase must be within the limits set by RERA.
These limits are typically based on factors such as the property's location, type, and market conditions.
Dear Questioner,
According to the UAE Rent Law, a landlord in Ras Al Khaimah can increase rent after one year if the tenancy contract includes a clause allowing for a rent increase.
However, the increase cannot exceed 10% of the current rent amount. If there is no such clause in the contract, the landlord cannot increase the rent until the end of the tenancy period.

Otherwise, rent increases are regulated by law and typically occur at lease expiration.
