Apartment's chiller connected to my DEWA, despite being told it's chiller-free. What now?

I recently signed a rental contract based on the agent's confirmation that the apartment is chiller-free. While I had a WhatsApp conversation confirming this, it was not mentioned in the contract because the agent claimed it was not a standard practice.
However, I have now discovered that the chiller is connected to my DEWA. I agreed to rent the apartment for AED 66,500 instead of AED 60,000 because the agent assured me that there would be no additional cost for the chiller.
What options do I have now?

According to UAE law, any verbal agreements or promises made by the agent must be included in the rental contract in order for them to be legally binding.
In this case, since the chiller being free was not mentioned in the contract, it may be difficult to prove that it was a part of the agreement.
However, you do have the option to file a complaint with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) against the agent for misrepresentation and false promises. You can provide the WhatsApp conversation as evidence to support your claim.
Additionally, you can also try to negotiate with the landlord to either reduce the rent or cover the cost of the chiller, as you agreed to pay a higher rent based on the agent's assurance that the chiller would be free.
If the landlord refuses to cooperate, you can seek legal advice and consider taking the matter to the Rental Dispute Settlement Center (RDSC).
They will review the evidence and make a decision on whether the landlord should compensate you for the additional cost of the chiller.
