Can building management legally restrict customer access after specific hours?

Can building management legally restrict customer access after specific hours, such as closing the main entrance at 10 PM?

My lease agreement does not specify operating hours and we have traditionally operated until 11:30 PM.

What are my legal options to address this new policy?

Greetings.

The building owner does not have the right to restrict the entry and exit time of residents as long as the lease contract does not specify this.

Dear questioner

It is advisable to review the lease contract and if it specifically mentions the clauses related to "reasonable use" of the premises or complying with building rules.

If it is indirectly mentioned that you should follow the building rules then you are obliged to follow them, otherwise, you are not required to follow them and can raise a dispute.

If you need further clarification, please share your Whatsapp number.

If there is no specific clause enclosed in the lease agreement and there is no agreement between the building management regarding the working time, then they can not put forward such restrictions.

You have to ensure that you have made no consent about these working hours. So if they restrict you again, you can file a complaint with the police.

In order to settle this issue, you can negotiate with the building management regarding the time. That will be better.

Yes, they can restrict as per agreement.

But if there is some exception in your agreement, then it can not be closed as per law.
