Questions & Answers
Is the settlement of final dues enough for the employer to cancel my visa?
Hi
I resigned from a DSO free zone company and had signed the document for my final dues (but no visa cancellation document).
My visa has now suddenly been cancelled, I am surprised as I thought I would need to sign a separate document to agree to visa cancellation.
Is the settlement of final dues enough for the employer to cancel my visa?
Dear Client,
Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you in this matter.
Settling final dues is not equivalent to visa cancellation in the UAE. Visa cancellation usually involves a separate process initiated by the employer with specific documentation.
Verify the status of your visa with your employer to ensure it has been properly canceled.

No, the settlement of final dues is not enough for the employer to cancel your visa.
According to UAE law, the employer must submit a cancellation request to the relevant immigration authority in order to cancel your visa.
The employer must also provide a copy of the cancellation request to you.
