Does physical custody mean that my ex wife can change my sons name

Hello,

Does physical custody mean that my ex-wife can change my son's name or not?

She doesn't have legal custody only physical and I have visitation via video because I live overseas.

Dear Questioner,

Please note that physical custody means that the child will stay with her and you will have rights to meet the child.

Please contact us on the phone.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well. I will definitely assist you with this matter.

Changing a child's name typically requires legal custody or a court order, especially if both parents have shared legal custody.

If your ex-wife only has physical custody, she may not have the authority to change your son's name without your consent or a court order.

For any further legal assistance, you can WhatsApp us. We have an extensive team of knowledgeable and experienced lawyers to provide the legal assistance you need.

We will definitely be happy to help you.

Thanks & Regards

Both have equal rights over the child. If she wants, she can.

But she has to inform you of the same and she may send a request to the authority for approval.
