Is it legal to record a conversation if I am told it will be recorded?

Dear Sir/Madam,

If the first party informed me that this session would be recorded for quality and training purposes, is it still illegal to record it?

Dear Questioner,

Yes, it could be legal in some cases, such as when an organization records phone calls to ensure that correct procedures are being followed and to quickly resolve disputes.

However, generally, recording private phone calls without the consent of both parties is illegal.

If they follow such a policy, this can be treated as legal.
