Can I sue my landlord for renting my old apartment after I vacated it?

Hi,

The landlord gave me a notice one year ago saying that he wanted to sell the villa.

I vacated the villa after that, and two months later, I found out that he had already rented it to someone else. Can I sue him? What can I get?

Thank you!

Dear Questioner,

If the landlord requests to retrieve the property for the purpose of selling it, and then rents it out to someone else immediately after, you are eligible for compensation if you can prove that it is being rented out to someone else.

Dear Client,

Thanks for your question, I hope you are doing well.

If your landlord breaches the conditions of your lease, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit against them under UAE law.

Depending on the specifics of your situation, you may be entitled to sue your landlord for damages caused by his breach of the rental agreement.

Thanks and Regards,

Abdul Wahied
