Questions & Answers
What can I do if the landlord rented the apartment after evicting me for personal use?
My landlord served me a 12-month notice to vacate saying he wants to move in himself.
I know he will not move in and did this to rent the apartment at a much higher rate. I will vacate as per the notice.
If he uses the apartment for any purpose other than his own living, what legal options will I have?
Do I need to inform him of anything before I vacate?
Hello
My dear, there are only 3 conditions under which your landlord can evict you:
1- If he sold it out
2- If you did not pay for one or two months
3- If you have any complaints from your neighbors
Please contact us by phone if you need to renew your contract by court force with the same amount.
If the property is in Dubai, then he rents it out after you leave the apartment, you have the right to file a compensation claim, and the compensation judgment is 100% guaranteed.
Dear User,
If the lessor, at the end of the lease period, requests to retrieve the property for his personal use or for the use of any of his first-degree relatives, he may not lease it to others except after the lapse of at least two (2) years from the date of retrieving the property, According to law.
If circumstances change, the landlord should always re-offer the property to the original tenant even if they may have moved out.
Therefore, if you vacate the property and subsequently find out that the owner has re-let it, you can file a complaint at the RDSC to claim compensation.
Regards.

Hi
Pursuant to your query, you don't need to inform him of anything.
However, if you find out after vacating the house that it is rented to a new tenant, you can file a complaint with the Tribunal in the RDC.
