Can an agreement be nullified for not knowing the language and signing it under coercion?

I have a question.

I was forced to sign an agreement. It was in Arabic and I do not understand nor speak Arabic language.

I was not offered any translator or legal advice before signing the agreement.

I wish to know if such an agreement can be challenged in court and if I can defend it.

The situation was such that I was threatened to sign the agreement or else I was that there would be consequences.

Kindly help.

Yes, it is permissible to open a criminal report for that similar incident and obtain permission to agree to open the door for investigation and take the necessary legal action.

It is also permissible to plead nullity in the event of a civil lawsuit filed, in accordance with the regulations and laws in force in the country.

A complaint need to be raised.

The court does not accept the claim of not knowing the language when signing.

For the second question, it depends on the type of threat, the cause, the circumstances, and the consequences they told you.

12 May 2023, 10:37

The type of threat was "You sign it, otherwise, I will arrest you right now and you will lose your job and your kids."

This is in relation to my divorce case where my ex-wife filed a domestic violence case in order to strengthen her divorce case.

Under these circumstances, can the "agreement" be considered null?

13 May 2023, 09:06

Maybe. But it is not enough to tell a story. You must have proof of what you say.

13 May 2023, 09:41

The circumstantial evidence supports my claim because my ex-wife applied for divorce, and based on the said agreement, she proved to the court that I hit her and her mother whereas her mother attacked me with a knife (evidence can be seen on police CCTV when I was arrested).

If you have proof of what you say, file a case to annul the divorce.

13 May 2023, 11:11

I have proof, I just need a lawyer who can present my cases "domestic violence and divorce".

I wish to know if I can hire your services and how much will you charge, considering the fact that I can't pay much and I don't want to be deprived of justice.

Or is there any other way that I can approach the court?

I am not in the UAE at the moment.
