Consequences of cheque bounce paid for rent

Dear Sir/ Madam

There is a 2 rental cheque bounce case amount of AED 16800 & 12500 in the police station and there is a travel ban.

My current condition is not able to pay it as I don't have a job and I'm looking for it.

So what are the worst consequences of it? And how will the travel ban be removed?

Please help me with info.

Thanks

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for getting in touch with me.

Can you confirm if your cheque has bounced in Dubai or any other emirate?

If it is Dubai, then you need to visit the police station and state that you are willing to pay the fine (usually around 10-12% of the cheque amount).

Once you make this payment, you will be cleared and the travel ban will be lifted.

I trust you will find this helpful.

Dear Sir

Yes, these 2 cheques are bounced in Dubai only, but one of my friends was saying that in rental cheques we cannot pay a fine, is it true?

After paying the fine, will there be another issue?

Please help me

Dear Sir/ Madam,

The Landlord has a remedy under civil law to claim the full amount of the cheque. But this will be a separate case and not a police case.

I strongly suggest you not to listen to anybody and visit the police station. The police will assist you promptly and guide you.

In case you face any difficulty, you can get in touch with me.

Dear Sir

Thank you very much for your info.

If I go to the police station, will they arrest me till I pay the fine?

They will keep you in custody till you pay the fine. However, you can keep the Emirates ID or passport and leave.
