The legal implications of refusing to go to work due to unpaid salaries

Dear Sir/Madam,

Our company (under DMCC free zone) has not paid our salary for almost 3 months. Our team has decided not to come to work due to insufficient funds, especially for transportation.

We received multiple calls from HR saying that it is a strike and it is against the law.

What should we do if our company takes legal action against us for not coming to work?

Welcome,

Each free zone in Dubai has its own laws.

To answer the question, it is necessary to know the region to which it belongs and check the employment contract for conformity with the law.

It is preferable to review the employment contract first for the powers available to the employee in the event of salary interruption, especially since the interruption is collective.

Dear questioner,

Submit a labor complaint to the free zone.

Dear questioner,

You need to file a labor case immediately, otherwise, the company can make absconding complaints against you.
