Questions & Answers
What are the rights of the tenant if the landlord was late to send the rent increase notice?
As a tenant, what is my legal right if the owner sends me a notice 87 days before the tenancy expiry for a rent increase?
Dear,
As per RERA, the legal notice requirement for a rental increase is at least 90 days. If the landlord does not comply with the legal requirements, then you may submit a complaint to RERA against it.
However, we suggest you talk to your landlord first before submitting a complaint informing him that the notice is not legally valid and that the tenancy agreement shall remain the same.
If the landlord does not comply, then we suggest you submit a complaint.

Hi,
You have the right to refuse the rental increase, as he needs to convey this in writing at least 90 days in advance.
The contract will be renewed under the existing terms and conditions.
