Serving a notice upon resignation during the probation period
Is an employee, if resigned, required to serve a notice while on probation?
Kindly clarify!

Dear questioner,
Yes, the employee shall serve the notice period if the employment contract stipulates a notice period. Otherwise, the employee shall compensate the employer for not serving legal notice.
Article 37 of the UAE Labour Law states that:
“A worker may be engaged on probation for a period not exceeding six months, during which his services may be terminated by the employer without notice or severance pay: Provided that a worker shall not be engaged on probation more than once in the service of any one employer".
