Is the employee obliged to pay any compensation to the company in case of resignation?

I would like to ask regarding the UAE labor law if the employee has to pay any compensation to the company after resigning.

Because my employer is asking me to pay this amount. Please, I need answers and help as soon as possible.

Dear Questioner,

As per the new labor law in effect from February 2022, in case you resign within the probation or/and without serving the notice period, you or your new employer need to pay the compensation.

Please refer to the new labor law (federal decree law no. 33 of 2021).

I am already serving my notice period. In fact, I'm about the finish on the 15th of July.

How can I tell them that I don't need to pay any compensation?

How can I get my gratuity also, end-of-service pay, and pending vacation pay?

If you follow the labor agreement and they still pursue it, you may register your complaint with MOL.
