What is my legal status upon the expiry of limited contract with unpaid salary?
I worked for a company for 8 years. They sent me a letter for the renewal of my contract and visa last February which expired yesterday.
But till now they don't renew anything and they hold my salary and they told me to hand over all my work to a newly hired employee.
And they told me to stop work by the next 15th of June without any termination letter. What shall I do in this case?
Dear Questioner,
To begin with, they cannot terminate you without first providing you with notice and paying you for the notice period.
The notice time is normally specified in the contract; if not, the Labor Law specifies a one-month time.
You can certainly sue the corporation for the salary you were not paid, in addition to your gratuity and compensation.
