Now, they have informed me that they'll detain my gratuity amount which I feel I deserve. However, I have not been such a person and have not done such a thing in overall 30 years of service. Now, gratuity has been held considering the harassment clause.

Q: My brother is a porter. He is carrying water to homes. While he was going to the lift, there was a little girl and she is our elder brother's daughter age. My brother touched her but not like an abuse. He loves children a lot, but that girl (10 years old) and her father told that my brother kissed her (but he did not kiss) and touched her likewise. Q: I was a victim of sexual harassment by an RTA taxi driver. The RTA investigated the case and found that the driver acted inappropriately. They want me to file a police case against the driver. Can I claim compensation from the RTA for this incident?

Q: Greetings, In 2018, I was wrongfully accused of assault. My colleague got into a fight with a local man outside of a restaurant. I never got involved but was somehow accused of assaulting this person. When I spoke to the prosecutor, I mentioned that there were several CCTV cameras that would prove that I never assaulted anybody but was told that "the CCTV cameras weren't working on that day". I was jailed for 20 Days, released on bail, and left the UAE without going to court in fear for my life. I recently requested my records which indicate an arrest warrant, 20,000 AED fine, 2 months in Jail, and a deportation order. I understand that the best way to have this settled is to file an appeal and appear before the judge. My biggest concern is what happens once I arrive in the UAE for the appeal. Will I be arrested and jailed again and potentially in a worse situation than before? I really would like to finally get this properly resolved so if anyone has any suggestions, I would love some advice. Thanks!

This Law promulgates the Federal Penal Code (Criminal Law) of the United Arab Emirates. Crimes and chastisement punishments shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of this Law and other penal codes.

The provisions of this Federal Decree-Law No. (31) of 2021 Promulgating the Crimes and Penalties Law, known as the "New UAE Penal Code", governs criminal actions in the United Arab Emirates. The New Penal Code repeals the previous UAE Penal Code (Federal Law No. (3) of 1987 Promulgating the Penal Code).
