Terminating the tenancy contract without giving a complete notice period
I was staying in an apartment in Abu Dhabi for 6 years. This year I decided to shift the apartment. I gave 51 days' notice in place of 60 days (2months) for not renewing my contract.
The landlord company forced me to deposit 9 days rent and took all of my security deposit as a penalty for short notice period without my agreement.
Now, they are refusing to give a receipt for 9 days rent and my security deposit settlement.

Dear Questioner,
If the tenancy contract stipulates the fact that you have to provide the landlord with 60 days' notice for non-renewal of the contract and you have not complied with this request (from your statement I understand that you have provided only 51 days notice), then you have to pay the penalty mentioned in the contract.
If the landlord brings the case to the Rental Dispute Center, he will win the case, unless you have solid evidence of non-compliance with the term mentioned in your lease contract.
