How to get the invested money back when the special committee is canceled?
I had invested in a real estate project in Dubai, but it was canceled and the special committee was formed under the property law.
But a few weeks ago, new property law has been established under which the special committee no longer exists.
Kindly let me know how can I get my invested money back!

Hello,
Thank you for your question!
A new law was introduced on December 15, 2020. The new law replaces the previously existing law regarding the Judicial Committee to Liquidate the Real Estate Projects Cancelled in the Emirate of Dubai and Settle Their Related Rights.
In brief, the new law, Decree No. 33 of 22, on Special Judicial Committee for Uncompleted and Cancelled Real Estate Projects in Dubai expands the scope of powers that the Judicial Committee has.
The Dubai Land Department is currently in the process of launching a platform on their website, specifically for cancelled or incomplete projects. The Dubai Land Department is working on managing all the projects in accordance with the new law.
Through the new platform, investors will be required to fill out a form with the details of their property. Following, someone from the Dubai Land Department will reach out to them in connection with the status of the project.
The project may either be 1) liquidated, or 2) passed on to a new developer.
If the project is liquidated, then the Dubai Land Department will contact you regarding how you can get your money back. Until then, you will be required to wait.
The form is yet to be launched.
