Dealing with a court letter for a bounced rental cheque

Dear Attorney Ahmed,

Today I have received an Arabic letter from Dubai Courts and this is in connection with my bounced cheque two weeks ago.

I am residing in this real estate for 13 years and I used to pay one cheque in regards of payment, but I can say that in 12 years of making payments with them, this month only is delayed because of our salary delay.

Please advise what would be my case against this letter in Arabic from Dubai Courts.

Dear Questioner,

First of all, we would like to see the Arabic letter from the court to understand what kind of case is registered against you.

However, based on what you have mentioned above, I can imagine it is a claim for the value of the cheque.

You should arrange the payment of the rent and pay the relevant penalty, or you may face a criminal complaint with whatever comes with it of penalty, besides the civil claim for the amount.

You can come to a meeting to show us the document and discuss how we can help you out of this issue.

Regards,

Ahmed Elnaggar
