Transfer labor dues of a deceased employee to his family in home country
1
Q: Hi,
I am reaching out to seek advice on the payments (i.e. insurance claim, final settlement) as the employee passed away and left the spouse and two kids age 7-year-old son (autistic), and 1 & half year daughter.
The employee is non-Muslim and passed away outside the UAE while visiting his home country.
As an employer, we intend to pay the deceased family in their home country account for the insurance and final settlement.
None of the deceased family members here in the UAE and the spouse will not be able to travel to the UAE in the given situation of the pandemic.
However, the family is in great need of finances since they are the main beneficiary.
As an employer, we seek advice if we can transfer the payment to the employee deceased beneficiary account in the home country instead of the deceased employee bank account in the UAE.
Thank you

How to obtain the bank records of the ex-husband?

1
Q: Hello,
I am from the USA and currently have a family law case here against my ex-husband to obtain the money that he rightfully owes me. My ex-husband used to live in Sharjah, UAE, but he now lives in the USA since 2020.
He had a bank account in Sharjah Islamic Bank, but now he claims that he does not have access to that account and does not have money in that account. I need to obtain his bank records from Sharjah Islamic Bank to prove otherwise.
Can I issue a subpoena to Sharjah Islamic Bank for them to produce his bank records?
How can I register a foreign subpoena in the UAE?
Your help and advice are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Do you have assets in the UAE? Have you made a will yet? It is highly recommended to register a will soon, otherwise, the drive to asset disbursement can be extensive and expensive. In addition to the option of registering a will in DIFC for Non-Muslim will registration, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) had also introduced a separate office since August 2017, which has made the entire will registration process easier and cost-effective.

View allI secured a mortgage from the bank and the broker kept delaying until the MOU expired. What to do? 0
Hi,
I need some guidance regarding a property transaction that is not progressing as expected.
My broker initiated a manual Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between me (the Buyer) and the Seller, with an expiry date of 01/02/2025. Within this period, I successfully arranged the bank mortgage, property evaluation, and NOC.
However, the broker started giving excuses, such as the seller being hospitalized. Later, the broker attempted to arrange a Power of Attorney (POA).
However, after that, they started ignoring my messages and calls. It now seems like they no longer intend to proceed with me, and the MOU has already expired.
Meanwhile, my bank EMI has already started, and I have paid two monthly installments. The broker is still unresponsive. I have raised multiple complaints through DLD RVS against the broker, but the response has been very slow and unsatisfactory.
I’m feeling stuck and financially burdened.
Please advise

What can I do with the contractor I paid to build my house and disappeared before completion? 0
Hey,
I'm building my house in Dubai, and it was going well.
I gave the contractor 420k as a first payment, and we both agreed that the rest would be in installments. Just two months ago, the contractor went off the grid, and I can't find him.
All I have is a security cheque that bounced back when I went to the bank, as the signature doesn't match what's in the file.
However, I learnt that he does have money, but not the amount that's in the cheque.
What should I do now to get my money back?
I need advice.
