Q: Hi there. I had a debt in Dubai but last week I paid the full amount. As a result, they gave me a clearance letter to confirm the payment. With the debt solved so I'm allowed to fly to Dubai again. To be honest I don't know if the bank opened a police case against me but I suppose yes because I had a debt, correct? Q: Hi, I lived in Dubai about 9 years ago and I left an unsettled credit card bill, not a huge amount but I figured I wasn't going back for any reason. Then over time, I completely lost track of it. Since then, I got a police clearance certificate from Dubai Police for immigration purposes in another country. I was wondering if this meant that my record was clear and if I landed in Dubai I would not be put behind bars or anything of the sort.

This Law promulgates the Federal Penal Code (Criminal Law) of the United Arab Emirates. Crimes and chastisement punishments shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of this Law and other penal codes.
