Q: Hi Sir/Mam, I worked in Dubai for 4 years. I changed my last job in 2016. Here, I got few issues related to work with my last employer - where he deliberately tortured me to make submit resignation. At the same time, I was cheated by a real estate company by AED 60000. I am in debt with banks through loans and credit cards and I was in too much tension about the job and came back to India without intimating the company. I did not pay my dues since Nov 2016. Currently, I am residing in India and I want to clear my debts because I don't want to keep a negative tag and to lift the ban if anything is imposed on me. My friend approached a lawyer who said he will support in clearing my debts through a small amount of fine via court. For this procedure, the lawyer is going to charge 10-15% of the total amount due. Please let me know whether the court will simply knock of my case and remove the ban if I paid the fine to them (or) the lawyer is cheating us. Please help out. Regards, S.
