Requesting judge's guardianship to marry

My father abandoned us and I want to marry a Muslim man.

How can we go on the marriage process?

Hi,

To marry as a Muslim in Dubai court, a woman needs to require a guardian presence (father, if the father is not alive then brother), if the father is not available in UAE then he can appoint a proxy by Power of Attorney and proxy’s presence is valid.

As you have mentioned that you can’t present your father, then you can make a request to the judge and he may accept your petition and can be your wali in marriage.

And hope you know that 2 Muslim witnesses and both parties' medical examination reports are required to marry in court.

For further clarification, you may contact us via phone or email.
