Initiating legal action for defamation on social media channels
I am reaching out to file a defamation case against my sister-in-law who lives in Sharjah but she is a citizen of India.
She has declared on Facebook and social media that my relationship with her brother (my husband) is annulled. I am married to her brother and our marriage is still valid.
I have faced humiliation and shame due to her posting of irresponsible comments.
Please let me know the course of litigation and costs involved.
I am not in the UAE but I would need a legal representation there.
Please advise!

You may file a criminal case in India or UAE, in both jurisdictions, this is a criminal act.
There is no cost involved in Police complaint but you have to personally visit the nearest Police station. I would suggest you to file a complaint in the UAE.
