Possibility of cancelling or delaying civil court fees

Hi All,

I have been cheated by a group of people and had filed the criminal case. The criminal court has ordered jail term and deportation to the criminal and also passed the order - "Referring the civil action to competent civil court without any expenses".

My understanding is that I don't need to pay the court fees which are AED 40000, as my claim amount is 1 million. However, my lawyer is saying that I need to pay the court fees.

I don't have that much money as I have lost all my money in cheating. Can someone clarify if I need to pay the court fees?

I will be very much thankful for your insights.

Thanks

I.

Dear Client,

You can request a delay of court fees in a civil case, but that depends upon the judge.

I can help you to request the same. If you need my help, you can call me.

Thanks

Dear questioner,

The court fees must be paid of course and there is no way around it.

However, it is a possibility that you may request the court to delay the payment of the court fees and this is subject to the court’s approval.
