Q: My husband refuses to provide maintenance for wife and child.
Is there any organisation in Dubai/UAE that helps to enforce maintenance payments to spouse and child?

Approximate maintenance for the wife and child after divorce
19
Q: (1) How much maintenance percentage is required to be paid by a husband (working) who divorces his wife (not working) and has one daughter to support?
(2) We are British citizens living in the UAE and own a home in the UK. Will the UAE law force me to rent additional accommodation for her when I can provide a home in the UK?
Many thanks

Filing case for maintenance against husband in the UAE
6
Q: Dear,
I am writing this on behalf of my sister in law:
"I married this guy almost 15 years ago. He left for a job in the UAE. Now he rarely visits me in Pakistan in years. He also got married to some other Pakistani girl in the UAE.
Meanwhile, he is forcing me to live in Pakistan in his own home and does not directly give me the money to take care of myself and my children. He sends the amount to his father and he then assesses my needs and gives me a calculated amount.
Is there any law in the UAE through which I can bind him to pay me my expenses or I can take khulaa (separation)?"
P.S. The lady is really heartbroken and desperate. Please respond asap, I shall be very thankful.

Dealing with the husband appeal against a maintenance order

3
Q: Hi Sir
We are Indian Hindu married for 13 years and have two boys.
We lived in Dubai for three years. My husband cancelled my visa, sent us to India and deserted us from July 2017.
I came to Dubai and filed for maintenance and the judgement came in my favour, ordering my husband to provide visa, house, school fees, maintenance...etc.
Now, my husband filed for an appeal against this. What should I do in defence of the appeal? Will this appeal affect my maintenance?
Kindly advise

Asking an employee by the HR to provide her husband's details from his company
6
Q: I am a teacher at a British school. As a female, I sponsor my kids.
My husband has a Dubai visa and is local hire.
My school wants me to submit accommodation information and salary details from my husband's company.
Can my HR ask to see the salary details of my husband as I heard that if your husband works in another Emirate, then there is a duplication of benefits?

What to do if you received a call from a person claiming to be a lawyer 0
I received an unsolicited call on a Saturday night (6.06pm to be precise), on my mobile phone in my place of residence from a lawyer (think he's actually a partner) claiming to represent my ex-wife in a matter pertaining to a divorce agreement that was ratified in Zimbabwe at the end of August.
He threatened that the full force of his law firm will be thrown at me if I did not settle the monetary claim within 48 hours of our telephone discussion. 80% of the monetary amount in question was actually remitted that afternoon, prior to his call, which he didn't bother to inquire about.
There was no formal notification in writing that their services had indeed being retained by my ex-wife. I am not sure if he followed due process & his threats could be construed as coercion in a matter that was all but resolved.

Settlement in a civil case for the payment of bounced cheque amount 33
If you have been sentenced for a bounced cheque and then a civil case is brought against you, what would happen if you do not have all the funds to pay the full amount?
Would the judge accept a lump sum and then installments until all the money is repaid?
