Will I be arrested in GCC countries for my UAE credit card debt?
50
Q: Greetings,
I was terminated by my company in May 2016 because they were cutting the number of staff. I had a credit card with 10,000AED that I used fully. I was unable to reach the bank and so far I have never received any call or email from them.
I was struggling with unemployment all this time and couldn’t pay my debt, I have no intentions to not pay because it’s Haram/prohibited in my religion. Recently, I got a job offer in another GCC country and I want to go there and pay my debt using my salary.
My question is, will I be arrested in that GCC country at the airport?
I don’t know if a police case has been filed against me or not, what I know is I am morally obligated to pay my debt and the only way I can do it is if I start that new job, my family is poor and my country has no job opportunities.
I’m afraid to be detained and sent to the UAE, this will not solve the issue, nobody will be able to pay for me and jail won’t solve the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards.

Removing a travel ban imposed for defaulting on credit cards
3
Q: Dear Madam Nikhat,
I have outstanding amounts for two different banks on credit card.
I lived in the UAE for almost 5 years and when I lost my job, I came back to home country and attempted many times applying for a visit visa to go back to the UAE.
Unfortunately, all my visit visa applications were rejected and I came to know from the immigration department that I have got some AL Aman ban.
After coming back to my home country, being jobless with no financial support I have paid (with the help of my relatives) installments on my credit cards upto 7months.
I am getting emails from both banks regarding legal case & travel ban for not clearing the remaining outstanding amounts. I replied to them that I need time to go back to the UAE, get a job and clear my dues.
Kindly advise, how can I settle these outstanding amounts, and is it possible to remove this ban?
Thank you,
Regards

Defaulting on bank loans and possible actions for recovery
15
Q: I have a few questions.
Q.1 My friend has a bank loan of AED 60,000 approx from a bank here in the UAE and he did not pay for the last 7or 8 months and the bank is calling for recovery.
They have a law firm here which has a branch in Pakistan and this bank also has a branch in Pakistan.
If my friend travels to Pakistan due to an emergency now and the bank proceeds with its action, what action(s) will that be?
(So far no action from the bank - no case from them)
Q.2 If he goes to Pakistan, what will the consequences be for an already running civil case of a bank loan default with another bank, this bank has no branch in Pakistan?

Checking travel ban upon leaving the UAE with unfinished issues

1
Q: I am an Australian who came to Dubai in 1994. In 2013 I had to fly back to Melbourne because my brother passed away.
At the time, I was 7 months pregnant and for the last 5 years, I have dealt with having a baby, getting a divorce, getting child custody and a year of unexpected illness and hospitalisation.
My departure from Dubai was unexpected and never intended on being away for so long. Before I left, I had a credit card for about AED 28,000 and 2 other very small debt about AED 1000 each.
I can't remember the banks, but the one that concerns me most is that I sent a power of attorney to a friend to sell a car. He sold it sent me the money and trusted the buyer would transfer the car into his name and he didn’t.
The driver was stopped by police and the car was confiscated. I tried to locate where, but very hard from Australia. I need a lawyer to resolve my issues in Dubai so that I can return.

View allTerminating an employee after sick leave and claiming compensation 0
Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

How to make the seller hand over the tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale? 0
Should the seller in Dubai hand over their tenant's security deposit to the buyer upon completing a sale?
Who is responsible for managing this process?
At the time of the exchange, the broker said he would follow up with the seller and collect the deposit.
He hasn’t, and the seller has not handed over the deposit.

How to cancel the MoU to buy an apartment with the broker if the bank did not approve the loan? 0
Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.
