Q: I am working in the UAE and facing issues of workplace favoritism and possible discrimination. Despite being a consistent top performer with many years of experience, I was rejected for a promotion that was instead given to someone with less experience and weaker performance. When I asked for feedback, I was given contradictory and false reasons, including being told that HR rejected me based on “how I sat in the interview,” even though it was an audio-only call. I was also told that promotions are not based on performance but on whether I had the “manager’s blessings.” In addition, I have observed: - Promotions are repeatedly going to people from the same community or close to managers. - Most of the management team belongs to one community. - Shift schedules are being changed after release to favor certain individuals. This has created a toxic environment with no fair career growth opportunities. My question is, under UAE labor law, do I have grounds to challenge this type of favoritism?

The transaction amount was only 400. But my brother did not have any possessions; he had only borrowed money. Another charge is that he helped a friend use drugs, but he did not help anyone. That friend is older than my brother. May I know if this is also considered an offence, and what is the maximum penalty he could face? He is also a first-time offender in a drug case.

I want to check if there`s a travel ban or any blacklist kind of status for me, as I want to travel to Dubai soon. I have lost the Emirates ID card, and I have a new passport number as I had to renew the passport. All I have is a scanned copy of my old passport and the visa page. Q: Hello, I have been working at a company in DMCC for nearly 5 years. I work in sales with varying annual results, ranging from overachieving to underachieving in a difficult market. This year, my manager gave me a very high target and lower targets to my colleagues. Our sales are mostly achieved in the last 3 months of the year when companies finally spend their annual budget. Now, my manager has suddenly decided to terminate me without any warning because of performance issues. My bank accounts were blocked in the execution of cheque criminal cases. How to unblock them?
Q: I urgently need legal assistance in Dubai. I`m facing multiple execution cases, a criminal complaint for a bounced cheque, and several personal debts under agreements. The total amount is around AED 500,000. Due to execution orders, my UAE bank accounts are blocked, some with negative balances from cheque enforcement, making it impossible to use them for settlements. I do have international accounts and can withdraw up to AED 35,000 per day, of which I am ready to allocate AED 30,000 daily for settlements and legal fees. I am looking for a licensed lawyer or firm that can represent me in all these cases, negotiate with creditors, assist in making payments (either via courts, banks, or through your office), and provide a clear roadmap to resolve everything. I also need guidance on how long banks will take to unblock accounts and clear negative balances after settlement. Q: I am seeking your urgent legal assistance regarding my current situation in the UAE. I am a former Branch Manager whose residence visa expired on 23 May 2025, and I have exceeded the grace period of three months. Unfortunately, I was unable to cancel my visa due to an arrest warrant arising from non-payment issues linked to the company I was previously employed with. On 16 August 2025, I was arrested and attended the Prosecutor’s hearing on 17 August 2025. I was released with an ankle tracker under the condition that partial payment must be made by 16 September 2025. At present, I am no longer employed by the Company. My labour card has been cancelled. I have not received my final settlement or end-of-service benefits. I am a single mother sponsoring a child, and urgently need to regularize my visa status to be able to work again. What can I do if my company filed a breach of trust case against me after losing money I held from customers?
Q: Hi Sir, My company was not giving me my commission cheques since November, so I kept the payment of 2 - 3 customers with me and I told the company to pay my commission to take payment of customers, then I lost the money from the car. I reported it to police, but police didn`t find any evidence. Then my company came to know this matter, and they said I owed them money. They forced me to sign a paper that I would pay in one month for the amount of 18000. I signed it, then they terminated me. They were not ready to pay anything. I filed a case in labor for about 37000 dhs, then my company filed a criminal case against me for breach of trust. My company has my passport, and they haven`t canceled my visa yet. After my labour case, my company filed the case against me in labour as well, claiming an amount of 49900. Then they requested to cancel the labour case of 49900 and filed a case 24000. What should I do in this scenario? I am under too much stress. Please advise.
