Q: Dear Questioner, My employer gave a 30-day notice to everyone, stating that our restaurant is permanently closing. It is located in DMCC, and our contracts are managed by DMCC. I just need to know, according to labor law, what my final payments should be. I completed one year on December 26, 2023. Can personal assets be linked to an FZ LLC company case?
Q: Hello! I hope all is well. Long ago, there was a hotel where we placed our employees for an event. The event got canceled early by the government under a situation not under our control. We then simply paid for the number of nights we stayed. However, the agreement was for a longer duration. The event cancellation led to a three-year legal case where we had testimonials from the hotel itself, the government, and staff regarding this issue. The case was dismissed, and we won. However, they reapplied the case a year ago, and since then, we haven`t heard anything or received any notification. The judge gave them the right, and now we need to pay them over 100,000 AED. I`m worried that they can attack my personal assets since everything within the operation was done via an FZ LLC company. The case was dismissed thrice, but on the fourth attempt, it was accepted by the judge. What do I do now? Do I sell my house, or is my house safe since it`s under a mortgage by a bank? The UAE stamp on my degree is fake. What are the consequences?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have an original degree. I want a visa. My company boss asked me about the degree; I said I have it and gave it to him. He sent it to Pakistan for MOFA testing. However, when the boss submitted it here in Dubai, they claimed it had a fake stamp, and now they have blocked me. I have a criminal case now. Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I have won a judgment in my favor against my employer for pending salaries, and the execution is complete. The court has locked the employer`s office, and an expert appointed by the court is tasked with selling the office assets to recover the money. However, the office assets, including furniture and desktops, are valued at not more than 5000 AED, whereas my due amount is 100 thousand. Please advise on how the court will recover the remaining balance from the employer.

Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I am a European resident and have owned an apartment in Dubai since November 8, 2023. The contract with the previous owner ended in September 2023, and the tenant was served an eviction notice until July 2024. Father passed away. What are the procedures to sell his property in the UAE?
Q: Hi, My family lives in Ireland and we are Irish citizens. We are not UAE residents nor do we have citizenship. I am the eldest son in my family. My mother and father own property in Dubai, UAE. My father passed away last year. He did not have a will. I have his original death certificate. My siblings and mother have granted me Power of Attorney to sell the property. I have notarized, authenticated, and legalized both these documents with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and the UAE embassy in Ireland. The title deeds for the property are currently in my mother’s and father’s name. We have the keys to the property and the title deeds. I wish to sell the property as soon as possible to divide the proceeds with my family. Would you be able to advise if I can fly over to Dubai to complete the sale of the property? Would I need to transfer the names of the title deeds from my parents` names to my name first? What extra documentation would I need? Thanks!

Requesting additional fees due to cheque postponement. What should I do?
Q: Good day, I requested the lessor to divide my upcoming cheque into two payments instead of the full amount on the 1st of December. I paid 50% on 1st December, and the second payment was scheduled for 30th December. However, they considered it as a cheque postponement and asked for an additional fee. Upon reviewing the contract, I found point number 8 states that a cheque postponement request will be subject to management approval, and it doesn`t mention any extra fees—just approval. Is this normal, and should I pay for it, or not? Please help!2023/12/19
