أسئلة وأجوبة
How to clear name and go back if you left the UAE with an unpaid personal loan?
My brother had a personal loan of 300k.
He lost his job, and the company terminated him, and his visa was cancelled, so he moved back home in 2015. He is trying to find a job back in the UAE.
Is there any way to get him cleaned, paying the court fine?
The bank he had a loan with has been merged with other groups, and he doesn't know who to contact.
Repayment is impossible without a job, and finding a job at the age of 50 is not an easy task.
Appreciate your advice.
Thanks
Dear valued customers,
We can perform a complete scan of all UAE systems to check whether or not you have a status or ban and recommend the best approach to resolve it.
The service price is 1000 dirhams. If you are interested, please send us a copy of your passport or Emirates ID via WhatsApp.
Hello,
The first step is to determine the current legal status of the loan.
It's likely that the case was escalated by the bank either through police or civil court channels, especially if repayments stopped.
We can assist you in finding out whether there is any travel ban against your brother. Often, banks are willing to negotiate a lump-sum settlement or reduced payment, especially if the account is non-performing and the borrower is outside the UAE.
If the case has reached court and there is a fine or civil judgment, it may be possible to resolve it by paying the fine or applying through a lawyer for a payment plan or settlement in court.
We will check the possibilities to clear the case in court. Hence, it's too old; there are some possibilities to get consideration from the court.
Kindly share your WhatsApp number to discuss further about the procedures.
Dear Questioner,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your brother’s situation.
I understand how difficult this must be for him, especially given the circumstances of his job loss and current age.
Based on what you’ve described, please find below some guidance under UAE law:
1. Loan Default and Legal Implications
If your brother left the UAE in 2015 without settling his personal loan of AED 300,000, it's possible that the bank filed a criminal or civil case against him.
This may have resulted in a travel ban, arrest warrant, or court judgment, which would still be enforceable, even if the bank has since merged with another entity.
2. Checking for Legal Cases
Before returning to the UAE, it is important to check whether:
There is an active police or court case against him.
Are there any fines, arrest warrants, or travel bans in place?
We can assist with conducting a legal status check to confirm whether any such actions exist.
3. Resolution Options
Depending on the outcome of the status check, your brother may:
Negotiate a settlement with the bank or its successor (we can help identify the appropriate institution).
If a court case and fine exist, he may be able to clear the matter by paying the court fine, depending on the nature of the case.
In some cases, it is possible to apply for a payment plan or settlement discount through the court or bank if he secures employment in the UAE.
Please let me know if you would like us to assist with the legal status check or guide you through the next steps. We would be happy to support you and your brother in resolving this matter.
Kind regards,

Good morning,
Thank you for sharing the details of your brother's situation.
Given the complexity of his case, it’s important to address the outstanding 300k AED loan, as failing to do so could lead to civil and criminal consequences, such as fines, travel bans, or legal action.
First, we would recommend identifying the current bank holding the loan since the original bank has merged. This can be done through official communication or with legal assistance.
Once identified, we can initiate negotiations to either restructure the loan or seek a settlement based on your brother’s current financial situation.
Additionally, considering his age and unemployment, he may qualify for relief under the UAE Insolvency Law, which allows for debt restructuring without imprisonment.
This could provide a pathway to resolve the issue without facing severe legal repercussions.
We strongly advise seeking professional legal counsel to help navigate the negotiation process, explore possible relief options, and ensure a smooth return to the UAE, if that is his goal.
Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further, and we can arrange a more in-depth consultation to help guide you through the steps.
Best regards,

First, it is essential to check whether there is any legal case registered against him.
You can provide us with a Power of Attorney (POA), and we will carry out the case check on your behalf. Please note that this service involves a fee of AED 500.
Once we confirm whether or not a case exists, we will be able to guide you accordingly.
If a case is found, we can direct you to the appropriate bank representative or legal officer handling the matter, so you may proceed with a settlement or loan restructuring.
However, sending him back to the UAE without confirming his legal status would be highly inadvisable, as it could lead to complications at the airport or with immigration authorities.
Should you require any further legal assistance or guidance, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or via email.
If you found our response helpful, we would greatly appreciate it if you could take a moment to like our answer.
Best regards,
