In 2013, a judgment was made for the father to pay AED 2K monthly for Nafaqa (alimony) and AED 40K annually for house rent. However, the father consistently delayed payments, despite having a monthly income of AED 30K. I attempted to settle the matter through court procedures in 2015 and 2017, but the father didn't follow through. By 2021, the outstanding amount was AED 145K, leading me to request an arrest warrant. The father claims he's not working, but I am aware he's involved in a construction business with his brother to avoid court responsibilities. He has no property or financial resources to block. In 2023, the outstanding amount increased to AED 206K. The father hired a lawyer to remove the arrest warrant, and now they seek a settlement. The court admin insists I attend the settlement meeting. What do you suggest? How can I protect the rights of me and my daughter, since I cannot afford a lawyer?
