Q: Good evening, Mam/Sir,
I have been working at a contracting company for almost 1.5 years. Recently, I received an offer letter from another company, and I have decided to pursue this new opportunity.
I submitted my resignation with a notice period of 10 days. However, my employer is not allowing me to resign and has not returned my passport.

س: سيدي العزيز،
أنا مقيم في دولة الإمارات وأعمل لدى شركة مقرها إمارة دبي في ديرة دبي. لقد ذهبت في إجازة في الأول من مارس وكان من المفترض أن أعود إلى دبي في 25 مارس.
بسبب قيود السفر الناتجة عن فيروس كورونا طلبت مني الشركة التي أعمل بها البقاء في بلدي الأصلي حتى 30 يونيو في إجازة غير مدفوعة الأجر. ولكن اتصل بي مديري اليوم وطلب مني إرسال خطاب استقالة.
أريد توضيح أن أدائي في العمل كان جيدًا وأنني كنت أحقق العمل المستهدف المطلوب. هل من القانوني مطالبتي بالاستقالة أثناء قضاء إجازتي؟ لم يشرعوا في إجراءات الإنهاء ولكنهم يطلبون مني الاستقالة.
يرجى تقديم المشورة أيضًا حول ما إذا كانت الشركة مسؤولة عن دفع مكافأة نهاية الخدمة بالكامل لي؟ وفي حالة قامت الشركة بإنهاء خدمتي، فهل يحق لي أيضًا الحصول على راتب ثلاثة أشهر كتعويض؟

حقوق الموظف في حالة الاستقالة أثناء الغياب غير المصرح به
س: إنني أعمل بصفتي مساعد إداري في مدرسة خاصة في إمارة دبي. انضمت للعمل معنا مُدرسة جديدة في 17/03/2017 بصفتها مُدرسة تربية فنية. في الخامس من ديسمبر 2019، سافرت المُدرسة إلى وطنها بعد وفاة والدتها دون الاتصال بشكل رسمي بفريق الإدارة العليا أو مدير المدرسة.
في 3 يناير 2019، أرسلت بريدًا إلكترونيًا إلى المدير لتمديد إجازتها حتى 20 يناير بسبب حصولها على إجازة مرضية. ولم تعد مرة أخرى.
وفي 18 أبريل 2020، أرسلت استقالتها عبر البريد الإلكتروني. سؤالي هو؛ بما أنها تعمل بموجب عقد العمل المدرسي ولم تقضِ فترة الإشعار التي مدتها شهر واحد، هل يحق لها الحصول على مكافأة نهاية الخدمة؟

How can I pay the rent after selling the property if neither the old nor the new owner is clarifying this?
My current landlord has sold the building I live in, and my rent cheque was due to be presented on April 1st. I contacted the new landlord and the current landlord about my rent cheque.
My current landlord advised that they had withdrawn the cheque and presented it to the new landlord. However, the new landlord has ignored three requests for clarity on how to pay my rent, which is now overdue.
What are my options here?

Despite a waiver, the case is still with the public prosecution. Can I travel?
Hello,
I had a case regarding fraud by technical means, and we did a tanazul.
It was attested and submitted to the court, but the case still hasn’t been dropped and is now with the public prosecution.
What do I do now, as I need to travel urgently?

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds?
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?
Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?
