Q: Hi there
So yesterday I went through a mutual termination dismissal. I handed in the work laptop but I lost the charger.
I asked the HR lady that from my final pay, they may deduct the amount of the charger and the laptop back which all amounts to R700.
She emailed me that they are declining that arrangement.
Does that mean they won't pay me my final pay?
Or what does declining that imply?

إنني أعمل في إمارة دبي بصفتي مندوب مبيعات مقابل راتب أساسي قيمته 1000 درهم حسب المذكور في العقد. لقد قدمت استقالتي في 15/09/2020 بعد قضاء فترة إشعار مدتها 30 يومًا.
طلبت مني الشركة تسليم الوظيفة بتاريخ 01/10/2020. لقد قمت بتسليم السيارة، وبطاقة الهاتف، والكمبيوتر المحمول للشركة. ولكن في 11/10/2020 رفعت الشركة قضية ضدي بقضية أنني حذفت جميع رسائل البريد الإلكتروني الخاصة بالشركة.
لقد رفعوا قضية أمام محكمة العمل. ولا يريدوا أن يدفعوا لي راتب شهر سبتمبر بالإضافة إلى التسوية النهائية لمدة ست سنوات وراتب الإجازة لمدة عام. كما أنهم لا يريدون مني الانضمام للعمل لدى شركة منافسة.
ولهذا السبب رفعوا القضية. ليس لديّ نقود لشراء الطعام. عائلتي المكونة من أربعة أفراد في الهند ليس لديها دخل سوى راتبي. أنا لا أعرف ما الذي يجب عليّ القيام به.

س: قدم لي صاحب العمل قبل ثلاث سنوات جهاز كمبيوتر محمول للاستخدام في أغراض العمل. تعطل الكمبيوتر المحمول الخاص بالشركة منذ زمن، وكنت أعمل على الكمبيوتر المحمول الخاص بي.
أنا أستقيل الآن من الشركة وخصم مديري تكلفة الكمبيوتر المحمول الخاص بالشركة (بذات السعر الذي دفعوه منذ 3 سنوات) بالكامل من مكافأة نهاية الخدمة.
أوضح لي أنه يجب علي أن أرد سعر الكمبيوتر المحمول بالكامل إلى الشركة بسبب عدم إمكانية إصلاحه.
أعتقد أن هذا إجحافًا، حيث أن هناك إهلاكًا في الجهاز وسعره بعد سنوات من الاستخدام يجب أن يكون أقل بكثير.
هل انا على حق؟ وماذا يمكنني أن أفعل في هذه الحالة؟

Hello,
My employer fired me under Article 44 for not showing up for work for 7 days in a row. But that’s not the case at all. I was sick and the management was aware and they let me go.
I went to another country to get treatment because it’s expensive in Dubai. My employer did not pay me my salary for the month I worked and fired me.
I have official sick leave from another country and there is correspondence where my employer sent me to another country for treatment.
The problem is that the employer says that he will take compensation for the training that was specified in the contract, but I did not undergo training at all; I immediately started work from the first day of work and there was no training.
Does my employer have the right to charge me such a fee and not pay my salary?

Hi,
I have a situation where I signed an MoU and gave my security deposit to the seller's agent. However later, the bank valuation of the property is lower than the selling price.
On my MoU, it has a clause that “the buyer has a right to cancel/negotiate if the bank valuation is not the same as MoU.” I tried to negotiate, however, we didn't agree on the price so I asked to cancel.
Now the agent is threatening me that they will not cancel the MoU and that will deposit my cheque. Later I also came to know that the person I am dealing with is not the same person whose name is mentioned as a broker in the MoU.
The agent I am dealing with is constantly messaging me with threats. I decided not to speak to him and instead, I wrote an email to the broker whose name is mentioned on the MoU but received no response.
I am on a very tight timeline as I need to vacate my apartment in 3 weeks, I found another unit but I don't know if I can pursue this while the initial MoU still not canceled.
Please, I need advice.

I purchased a tour voucher from a holiday agency in Dubai in 2023 worth AED 4239.00, but was not able to use it due to a visa problem.
I have constant email and communication through phone with them, and they informed me back then that my voucher will be available and has no expiration date that I can use anytime I want.
Now I wanted to use it, so I called them last Saturday, 31st May 2025, and they told me it has already expired due to the new policy.
Can I still claim and ask for my money back?

Cargo from Dubai to India arrived late and damaged. What should I do? 0
Hello,
I had sent a cargo from Dubai to India. I received the cargo late and with 35% damage. My TV, for which I had paid AED 1500 separately as cargo fees, was received after nearly 2 months in a completely damaged condition.
The cooking range was received after nearly 6 months and had superficial damage. They are not replying to my emails but are only responding through WhatsApp.

Respected Law Team Members, I am writing to seek genuine legal advice and guidance for our friend regarding an ongoing issue with her employer.
On 23rd May 2025, she received a termination notice via WhatsApp from her sponsor, which clearly states that she is required to complete her handover by 20th June 2025.
Since receiving the notice, however, her sponsor has been repeatedly contacting her via WhatsApp and phone calls, pressuring her to immediately return the company laptop and office cabinet keys, despite the agreed-upon handover date.
In addition, she has been verbally accusing my friend and making threatening remarks, creating a hostile environment, and causing her emotional distress.
To clarify her legal position, she contacted MOHRE, who advised her to reshare the termination notice to the lady employer about the handover date (20th June 2025) as she outlined in the (Cont-1)
