Can the new landlord refuse to make a rent agreement with me?
My rental contract ends in November 2023, but my landlord has sold the apartment. Also, she sent me a notice in November 2022 to vacate in November 2023.
My question is:
- The new landlord doesn't want to sign a new contract until November but he is asking me to give him the cheques. What shall I do?
Note: my current rental contract is not in Ejari as the previous landlord didn't register it, but it was created through a typing center as per the recommendation of the Dubai Land Department and signed by her.

Ask the new landlord to register an Ejari and share the copy with you. He has the right to receive the payment as he is your landlord now.

Pursuant to your query, it is advisable that you visit the land department and request the Ejari and ask them to contact the landlord.
Once they contact the landlord for the Ejari and Ejari is done, you can submit the cheques.
